Over the last few years, a new paradigm of leadership has emerged, not based on completion of tasks but on awareness, empathy and teamwork. The new model not only drives personal achievement and inspires others to follow, but also nurtures and develops a team spirit through attention to principles and each individual’s needs, preferences and boundaries.
This new approach is often referred to as centered leadership,
It is based on the philosophy of empowering others rather than deploying power over them, and developed through the balanced nurturing of physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual strength.
This new model of leadership is very much a feminine model.
And yet, women still hold a very small percentage of top leadership positions. They struggle to find balance between work, relationships, family and personal interests and often feel that they have to give up some important values to achieve others.
Why does this happen and how can women empower themselves to find the balance they crave?
